James R. “Jim” Headley, Esquire
Jim attended the University of South Florida (USF) and graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Following a medical retirement from the US Army in 1999, Jim began helping veterans at the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) organization. Jim handled hundreds of cases for veterans in need of assistance with their Veterans Administration claim for compensation, pension or educational benefits.
In 2003, Jim graduated from the Stetson University College of Law, while simultaneously receiving an MBA from Stetson University School of Business Administration. Following graduation, Jim specialized in Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury Protection defense. He represented the Florida Department of Children and Families while working for the Florida Attorney General’s office of Children’s Legal Services. He represented the Department in all aspects of removing children from situations in which they were abandoned, abused or neglected.
Since forming Headley Law, P.A. with his brother Scott Headley, Jim has focused primarily on Family Law, Criminal Defense, Personal Injury, Will Preparation and Social Security Disability. Jim has taken cases outside of these focused areas on a case by case basis throughout the years and enjoys being in court rather than being in the office primarily.
Scott A. Headley, Esquire
Scott received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Eckerd College in 1989, and subsequently received a law degree from Stetson University College of Law in 1992. He worked as an intern for two St. Petersburg attorneys and the St. Petersburg Police Department while a student at Stetson. He began his career as a staff attorney for the Police Department after graduation and continued this position for eighteen years. Scott’s position involved advising the Police Chief and officers as well as conducting litigation for the city.
Since joining his brother Jim at Headley Law, P.A. in January 2011, Scott practices primarily in the areas of Family Law, Criminal Defense, Personal Injury, Civil Litigation and Social Security Disability. Scott has taken cases outside of these focused areas on a case by case basis throughout the years, as well.
